Ssdi denied, ssi still pending

I just went online today and saw that my ssdi was denied. I filled for ssdi and ssi on the exact same day. I figured my ssdi would be denied since I know that I don't have enough work credits. Yesterday the status on both said that a medical decision has been made and that someone may contact me. Now today the ssdi says denied but the ssi still says the same. What do you think this means?

Hi Beverly,

It means they are still processing your appeal, so they are still deciding if you qualify for SSDI. If they haven't made a decision on SSI, then they are still determining if you qualify for SSI as well.

I check my ssi claim and it said denied. But I did a claim for both. But it says denied. Does that mean both of my claims was denied. Can u please tell me?

Hi Crystal,

You should receive a letter in the mail about the decision that was made, so that may give more detail. Does it mention SSDI anywhere?

I got a letter in the mail for my medical and it says I was approved through SSI does that mean I have been approved for SSI.

I was denied SSI and I applied for SSDI. Yesterday it stated,"A medical decision has been made and we are working to process your benefit application" next to the SSDI. Today only the denied SSI is showing the SSDI has completely disappeared. What does that mean?

What does it mean when reconsideration is pending for ssi after submitting an appeal for request for reconsideration? Does that mean they've made a decision and are finalizing everything?
