SSDI Review

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I've been collecting SSD for approx. 4 yrs. Now they want to review my status and I would like to find my status and find out how long the process is likely to take?

Hi There,
A review of your status just means the SSA wants to check if you're still unable to work. If they do deny you based on a change of status, you might want to speak with a disability advocate or lawyer. if you fill out the form on the left of this page, we can have one reach out to you.

Are the appeal process forms available online or do I have to physically go in to my local social security office?

Hi Rosa,

We are not affiliated with the SSA or the Federal government. You can call the SSA at 1-800-772-1213.

Hi Annette,

To qualify for both SSI and SSDI, the condition qualifying your for long term disability need to meet one laid out in the SSA's Blue Book.

The differences between SSI and SSDI are the technical qualifications. To qualify for SSDI, you will need to have obtained enough work credits. SSI's technical qualification is based on your income. Your long term disability is counted as part of your income, so combined with any other household income or assets may make it difficult to qualify for SSI. You can call the SSA directly at 1-800-772-1213 to speak with a representative or make an appointment to visit your local SSA office if you want to speak with someone in person to find out if you qualify. Best of luck!
