SSDI/SSI check amount after 65

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I am 61 and permanently disabled on SSDI. When I become eligible for SSI will the amount I receive be different from the amount of my SSDI checks?

Hi there,
Only if your SSDI payments are less than $733 per month. Otherwise, you will not be eligible for SSI.

Hi There,

It is possible, but to do so you'd have to receiving a lower SSDI amount. SSI is based on financial need and income, so depending on your SSDI payment, you may exceed the income limits for SSI.
