According to the Texas State Government’s annual disability review, Texas has maintained a steady percentage of disabled residents over the past decade — around 11.5% of the total population.
However, with Texas’ population steadily on the rise, this still means tens of thousands more residents have qualified as disabled in Texas over the last few years.
And yet, Social Security disability benefits are being awarded less now than at any point in the past five years.
To give yourself the best chance at receiving benefits in Texas, you must know the lay of the disability benefits landscape. Continue below to learn more about local Social Security resources in the Houston, TX area.

More than anything, their services are unpaid unless (and until) you win your case. Even then, their payment is capped at 20% of your initial earnings, all of which is handled by the Social Security Administration on your behalf.
