my friends daughters mother moved out and their child recieves benefits but they are in the mothers name and she is refusing to cash the checks. How long is the process to transfer the benefits into his name
when i applied for soc sec disability last year, my assets slightly exceeded the resource limits for ssi - now, after paying many medical bills, my assets have a value below the limit - can i collect ssi on top of soci sec disaiblity?
One a person is approved, I am curious as to how far back benefits go? To the person's 18th birthday, or when they applied again?

please help, I am very depressed and not sure what to do about ssdi.
I did apply feb 2010 and received a quick response and was told I didn't have enough credits to receive ssdi, even tho I worked a lot full time, I was off due to spine issues and when they went back that was time I was off work due to having a child.
So they did state in letter they are not denying me at this time but would send on to ssi. And I haven't heard anything.
So I asked few people they said just wait, but I'm wondering if I need to fill out the ssi forms.
If I was granted ssi benefits because I have end stage renal failure and am on dialysis and I have a kindey transplant msut a go off disability and if so when?
