I won my case

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

I received notification on the 22nd, that i had won my Adjudication and Review. The Decision was "Fully Favorable".

How long now is the "average" wait period for payments to begin? Any help on this will greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Cindy,

In an SSDI case your lawyer will receive their fees directly before you receive any money. If your lawyer has received money that means yours shouldn't be too far behind!

Hi Morgan,

SSI and SSDI have different requirements. Though you still need to meet a Blue Book listing to medically qualify for either of them, for SSI you need to be within the income limits while SSDI requires a specific amount of work credits. Because of this, you can qualify for one and not the other!

I had my hearing on 12/3/2019. While leaving, my attorney said that I did a good job answering questions and said this concludes our business agreement. Does this mean I won my case? If so, will that mean I will receive SSI and SSDI ?

Hi Javier,

You should receive a letter in the mail once a decision has been made! Your attorney typically finds out before you, so you can always reach out to see if they heard an answer yet.

Hi Lisa,

Congrats! You should receive your awards letter in the mail. This will explain how much you are receiving and the next steps to take.

Hi Donna,

This can be a stressful time and unfortunately the initial application isn't always approved. Work closely with your doctor and attorney and that will help increase your chances. Best of luck!

What does it mean when it says , Another office will process my decision and decide if you meet the non-disability requirements for supplemental security income payments ?

Hi Rose,

It may be that there is enough information in the medical records, documentation, etc. that were submitted for the judge to make a decision. You should receive a letter in the mail once a decision was made.

If the vocational expert eliminates all jobs in an ALJ hearing, is that a good indication I have won my case?

I was denied SSI but my SSDI application says there is a decision made and my claim is being processed. What does that mean?

Hi Christine,

There are two separate sets of criteria for SSI and SSDI. This just means that they are still determining whether or not you are able to qualify for SSDI.
