I received notification on the 22nd, that i had won my Adjudication and Review. The Decision was "Fully Favorable".

How long now is the "average" wait period for payments to begin? Any help on this will greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

Waiting on results of ALJ review. I got curious and checked my online verification letter. It does not show that benefits were discontinued in 2015. However, at the bottom. It says I am entitled to disability benefits. Does this mean I have been approved or could this be an artifact from 3 years ago when I was receiving

I had my ssi hearing on 2/1 and the judge told me I won my case. It’s more than 2 1/2 months later and no letter, phone call, nothing. How long does this take, especially since the judge already ruled in my favor?

Hi Dani,

I would recommend speaking with your attorney if you have one. Also, you can always call the SSA's phone number to see if they can shed any light on your situation. Best of luck!

Hi, I applied for disability in 2012 when I went in to Congestive heart failure(postpartum). I was denied 2x because of my age at the time 38 and Education(Teacher;Bachelor's Degree). I appealed to federal court. I won that case March 2017, non disabled ruling overturned, granted new hearing before ALJ. I am working again, I am better, however I was down for 3 years. I just won my new hearing. I won partially favorable for a closed period. All 3 years, that is ALL I wanted. I don't want to continue to be disabled. So I basically won a backpay case. Will that be in a lump sum or what? I am still recovering financially from the time I couldn't work. I am so happy that my lawyer pushed through for me, and it finally happened!!!

Had my hearring on 1/22/18 and received NO letter. Why is it taking so long to get the final decision. Is this normal?

Hi Jonathan,

It varies for each case. If you had an attorney for, I would contact them as they usually hear back about the decision on your case before you.

Hi Fran,

Unfortunately it can take a while to hear a decision. If you had an attorney you can contact them to see if they have heard back, sometimes they receive the decision before you. Best of luck!

I have had 2 lumbar surgeries, fusion and disc removal in 1999 and 2001. I was on ssi for 5 years. I was completely recovered after surgery, so i requested to close my benefits. I went to college and git a Bachelors degree in SW. Over the years, my back, hips, knees have deteriorated to tge point it is extremely paingul to stand and sit for long periods of time. I also have a lot of anxiety, panic, depression, ptsd and take medication for all. I waited 2 years for my court hearing and its been 7months now sincemyhearing and not a word. 2 years and 7 months, but everyday I wait, I trust my Lord Jesus that He is working out everything for my good! Epheshians 3:20 God bless you guys going through the same thing!!!!

Hi Susan,

Every case is different so I can't say for sure. You should be in touch with your attorney, since they are always paid before the claimant. Congrats on getting approved!

I went before the ALJ on 6/12/18 and was told by the judge and my attorney that he was approving me for benefits. Also the Vocational Expert said there was nothing else that I could do as far as work. I was also told that there would be a letter following my court date, but everyone seems to be oblivious to that statement, which came from the judge. I received a letter from Social Security this week stating that I have an attorney and all information would go to him unless other instructions were received from me. I just need some idea as to what is going on. The attorney's office is no help, social security is no help and I am having a really difficult time with this issue.s

Hi Chana,

Right now it sounds like your attorney is the best point of contact to find out information about your case. I would continue to try to contact your attorney to if the SSA said all paperwork will be sent to him.
