Hi Yune,

The Substantial Gainful Activity (SGA) for 2020 is now $1,260. If you are able to make this much, the SSA will reevaluate if you qualify for benefits. For 2020, if you make over $910, then you'll be entered into the Trial Work Period.

My current employer is working me between 20-30 hours a week back in 2018. I've been collecting Social Security Disability since December 2012.

Hi Tammy,

If your income doesn't exceed a certain threshold to trigger a work trial period, then it is okay to work those hours.

Hi Jennifer,

You can't make over $880 a month, or you'll be entered into the Trial Work Period. The number of hours you work will not impact your benefits, just your earned income.
