CAN I WORK AND STILL RECEIVE SSDI?

I RECEIVE SSDI DUE TO A PERMANTLY DISSABLED RIGHT ARM AND HAND (THAT IS WHY I TYPE IN ALL CAPS, I.E., ITS EASIER); I HAVE SEVERE BACK PAIN AND I HAVE DIFFICULTY WALKING AS A RESULT OF A BROKEN NECK (FRACTURE OF C5 & C6). I STILL WANT TO WORK THOUGH... DOING WHAT, I DON'T KNOW. CAN I WORK AND RECEIVE SSDI AND IS THERE AN INCOME LIMIT? GRANT FROM GEORGIA.

I'm on as I and fit 738 a month. I've got an opportunity to pick blueberries for a two to 4week period and pay is buy the pound and I can work at my own pace and will get paid accordingly. How much can I make before it messes with my as I money. Thanks

Hi David,
You may want to check in with your local SSA office regarding this, but if you're on SSI they may reduce your benefits by one dollar for every two that you make.

If you get $832/month, is that SSI, or SSDI? ALSO, can you ever receive both SSDI and SSI? Simply not enough to live on even though we have downsized as far as we can go unless we move to a shelter. Thank you for any response.

I am posting for my sister who suffers from Acromegaly, a pituitary disorder. She has worked hard all her life and now the disease is really taking a toll. She has to take multiple daily shots to keep her growth hormone level down but the price tag is without insurance is ~14K. She has been a rock star orthodontist assistant for almost 27 years and has paid $500 a month covering through her employer to cover the meds. We are very worried that 'when' the day comes she can no longer work, would SS disability cover this life required medicine?

i just started a new job I was told by one social worker I can still receive disability ssi money a month as long as I don't make over 4020.00 a month I'm working at the moment 40 hours a week I will be getting around 1300. per month but my fibromyalgia is out of control and my migranes are back so I don't know for how much longer I can work these hours so the ? is can I work this much and get ssi disability?

I am currently on SSDI and do not want to lose it, or have it reduced. I would like to work part time just because I am not making enough with these benefits ? Can I work if the monthly income is about $750 a month? I know I would need to report this. What should I do?

I receive SSSI but don't have enough money with this. I would like to work part time but I don't want to lose my benefits. What should I do? Can I work part time and make less than $820 a month with no changes in benefits?

Hi Lisa,
There would only be a limit on earnings, you would be able to earn up to $1,170 a month, however if you earn over $840 a month the SSA may change your benefits. It may be a good idea to contact the SSA if you're planning to go back to work.

At the age of 66 i receive SSDI due to a back and heart condition. I've received benefits since I was 63 yrs old but finding hard making it on my benefit check now. Can I get an part time job to help me out? I don't want to jeportize my SSDI I receive now. Thanks
