SSDI backpay benefit check was returned by my bank because it exceeded the allowed allowed to deposit in one day. I opened a new account and updated info with SS office. How long before they will disperse the funds again?
I really can't say for sure. It's good that you are being proactive and letting the SSA know. You can contact your local office to see if they can shed some light on that.
March 5, 2018 I opened a new checking account and the bank notified SS, the next week I looked at the SS site and my new bank was listed on the SS site, I changed all of my bills to the new site and closed my old account on the 20th of March, today March 24th I received a letter from SS stating they had my new info and would direct depositing my check into the new account but not to close my account for 1-2 months, well the letter came after everything else so now what do I do, where will my check go and how do I find out?

You can get a new debit card from your bank. Your benefits will still continue to be deposited into that account.
