How many hours are you allowed to work if on disability

I have 2 very bad arthritic knees, a-fib and diabetes, I can not perform my duties anymore in my job and if I apply for disability, would I have to go without any source of income for 9 months?

I just received my disability. I have low vision, if I go back to work. The amount I make is it added to my SD or do they subtract what I earn and give me the difference ?

Hi Diana,
If you receive SSI benefits, then the SSA would reduce your benefits one dollar for every two that you earn. If you're receiving SSDI benefits, then they would not change your amount if you earn under $840 a month.

HI Sue,
I think it was pretty similar to how much you can earn now, however you may want to contact your local SSA office regarding this, they would have detailed information pertinent to your particular case.

Iam having SSI benefits and I need some dental work which is not covered by the insurance I could get the total of the dental work but SSA could stop the benefits.I do not want to loose the benefits because I need it.
What am I suppose to do?
