I became disabled in October of 2010 and applied for SSDI. I have been treated by my doctor every week since then and have retained an attorney for my SSDI process.
I have been paying in to the Social Security system for 38 years and am 55 years old. I had been at my last job for 20 years until I had to retire in June 2012 due to my disability.
During my hearing the judge asked the Vocational Expert if I would be able to do full time work in my present position and she told the judge that I would not be able to. The judge then asked I would be able to do full time work in any position and the VE answered no, that I would not.
My doctor also provided paperwork that stated that I have a total disability and could not do any work. I also provided a letter from my former boss who I worked directly for the entire 20 years stating that I was a dependable and dedicated employee until I started missing a lot of days during the summer of 2010 due to the start up of my disability.
I just found out that my case is with a Decision Writer and would be turning the case back over to the judge in a couple of weeks.
My question is, with my work history, age, doctors treatment and findings of the Vocational Expert, what would be my chances of being rewarded benefits?

I received a letter from Social Security Adjudication in March 2016 asking for any updates on treatment and medication to see if they could make a on the record fully favorable decision. It is now July and I have not heard anything. Does it normally take this long? Is this a good sign or bad?

It takes an average of 17 months for a hearing, so it may just be how things are going as far as wait times are concerned.

I'm not really sure what you mean, but many SSA offices do have backlogs, and the one that you are working with may also have a backlog.

Wow, some of these wait times
Wow, some of these wait times are so lengthy. Just thought I'd chime in. I applied in August 2013. In September of 2014 we requested a hearing before an ALJ. I had my hearing 4 weeks ago. About a week and a half later I was advised the judge had made a decision and the case was in unassigned writing. Today I was advised that the decision has been written up and is back with the judge for corrections. I obviously have not received the decision yet but in a couple of weeks it will be exactly 3 years since I originally applied. I reside in Virginia.

This is not a good or a bad sign. It just means that the judge wants to know a little more about your illness before making a final decision.
I had court on July 7
I had court on July 7 received a letter Sat Aug 6 received letter from social security stating they had sent a letter to my attorney requesting a copy of our fee agreement. My lawyer says a decision has been made and its in the writing process. Just wondering what my chances are of winning? My onset date was also changed

It sounds like the SSA just needs to confirm your arrangements with your lawyer, but it may be a good idea to contact the SSA about the letter as they can let you know why they need it specifically.
