Im on ssdi from my dad that passed in 83.ive had ssdi srnce i was 18. Im unable to work. I have never worked. My boyfriend is on ssd and ssi. Hes not able to work. If we get married will it effect our checks?
i got my ssdi already approve my question is
how long i have to wait for me apply for medicare or medcaid im very disability'but i dont have the age im only 58
my husband have a problem with his kidney and get cancer
did he can apply for SSDI HE WORK ALL HIS LIFE BUT NOW HE BEEN A YEARAND HALF

If you are legally divorced, you should put married. But you should let the SSA know of the current situation.

I am very sorry to hear that. You and your boyfriend's SSDI benefits will not be affected, however his SSI benefits may.

If you are applying for SSDI, you can do so on the SSA's website, however if you are applying for SSI you will have to do so at your local SSA office.

There is a 24 month waiting period for Medicare after you have been approved for SSDI.

You can look over the Blue Book with his doctor to see if his cancer and kidney problems qualify him for disability benefits.
