disability claim

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Hello All.
I have a question for this forum, and it as follows;
does having the Social Security Disability send me an appointment to see their doctor, is that any kind of verification for an application to be more valid,...or is standard operating procedure?
I'm wonderin...ive been waitin 6 months.

Hi Vivian,
We really could not say as we are not affiliated with the SSA or the federal government, and as such we do not have any information about the disposition of cases.

I was going to apply for SSI but on page saying Do you qualify for SSI some of the questions not sure I answered correctly. I just started collecting Social Security due to my husband died and I turned 60. So I do work only 2 half days for practically nothing since I can only make so much but I need all the money I can make since I have a couple health problems the main one being COPD in which I have to be on oxygen 24 hours a day and the other is back problems for the past 10 years which is getting worse and makes is hard to sit or stand for long periods of time. So when it asked if I receive Social Security I put yes but the next question asked if I will be unable to work for a year which I put yes since my COPD is only getting worse along with my back problems. Do I answer the questions correct?

Hi Vickie,
We are not affiliated with the SSA or the federal government and the form on that page is a free disability evaluation, it is not a disability application. However, there are no wrong answers to those questions.
