It means that they got your information that you sent to them and they are in the process of deciding whether or not you will be receiving benefits. If they need any other information regarding your case from you they will contact you.

My status says the same thing and I call the local office and was told nothing but contact us back within two weeks if I have not heard anything but the status is still processing so I hope that is good news. I know the waiting is nerve wrecking but I have faith stay strong.

It does take a while for them to process an application. If you have not already, you may want to contact them to let them know you are a veteran, as they can expedite applications for veterans under some circumstances.
I received the same message when I check the Social Security website that day I called which is today 1/18 I believe and was told that I was approved but couldn't give me any more information so I hope that helps be positive
Linda, can you tell me what the address is that the letter came from? I spoke to a representative almost two weeks ago and she said I should be receiving a letter from out of state
I did call again today. She said I should be getting a call soon. The reason why it's been a little bit is because my case rep has been out of office.
