How can I receive a copy of my award letter on line

Gail (not verified)

I received my award letter on November 12th. I receive workers comp, I provided copies of all benefit statements received from workers comp. No attorney! Received first check December 14th, still waiting for backpay. Trying to not be depressed but past due bills, creditor calls has me pulling my hair. I have been told 4 different answers when I call 800-772-1213. One lady says it could take up to 5 months when workers comp is involved and trying to make sure I am paid correct amount. One says 6 weeks after award letter, another says 2 months after award letter, another says 6 weeks after first check. I am just so ready to pay my bills, get a peace of mind. I received a copy of corrected 1099 for year 2015 on November 15th. So if you have all this figured out then what is the problem

Hi Gail,
If you were awarded SSDI benefits, then your benefits would start in about five months from the time of award. If you were awarded SSI benefits, they would start the next month after being awarded. We are not affiliated with the SSA or the federal government.

Hi Vicki,
You would need to contact the SSA to get that, you can get in touch with them by calling 1-800-772-1213.

Hi Jacqueline,

Yes you can request a copy of your letter online. You can do that through the SSA by either logging into or making an online account with the SSA.
